Joel recently graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) with a Master of Science in Global Health. His undergraduate degree was in Public Health at UC Berkeley, and with his extensive research background in HIV, he is currently working on two publications with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and UCSF. While at UC Berkeley, he founded and instructed the first “Introduction to Cardiology” course within the Public Health curriculum to share his passion and knowledge for public health, biology, and anatomy. He truly values the opportunity to mentor and tutor younger students in order to develop their strengths and inspire them to pursue their goals. Several subjects he loves to tutor include statistics, calculus, economics, and biology. In his free time, Joel enjoys travel photography, basketball, tennis, half marathons, and meeting new people!
