Maiya is currently a college student at Wellesley College. She is studying Economics and Cognitive Science (focus on AI). She loves math of all levels and has been tutoring primarily in math for the past seven years. She tutors math subjects up to Calculus, as well as ACT/SAT math, as well as Spanish (levels 1-3), Computer Science, Economics, English, grammar, writing, History, test prep, and ACT/SAT. She loves to help students who are struggling and need a few different explanations of a topic before it clicks, as well as students who need more advanced topics than school can provide. Outside of tutoring and school, Maiya loves to ballroom dance, travel, and hike with her dogs. She is looking forward to helping you accomplish your academic goals!

Henry holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from UCLA. He once worked as a peer tutor at Oakland Technical High School, mentoring students in all 4 core subjects of English, math (Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, etc.), science, and history while tackling on a wide range of honors and AP level courses at the same time. He is well versed in the concepts frequently encountered in biology and chemistry. He also has some of the interpretative and problem solving capability to help students tackle on Newtonian physics. Henry has had the opportunity to take the following AP courses and achieved at least a passing score on their respective exams: Biology, U.S. History, Calculus AB and BC, U.S. Government and Politics, English Literature and Composition, Physics C: Mechanics, Chemistry, and Statistics. Henry is enthusiastic about bringing his expertise to the table and is looking forward to tutoring young students once again in the previously mentioned core subjects as well as Spanish this time around. He makes for intuitive ways to grasp, understand, and retain knowledge of course concepts and will ensure that the student will be able to apply said concepts with confidence. During his free time, Henry partakes in photography, taking portrait, candid, and cityscape photos during occasional outings inside and outside of the Bay Area. He also partakes in various forms of tabletop games as a fun and immersive way to apply problem solving skills and to keep his mind at work.

Jessica earned a bachelor’s of arts in International Relations with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, Davis. At Davis, Jessica also took writing classes on all genres from the University Writing Program and wrote for the Davis Political Review. Jessica hopes to use her knowledge of History, Politics, as well as Language Arts to go on to teach these subjects to her students. She loves to tutor English and writing, all levels of history, Spanish, mathematics, chemistry, statistics and US government. When not reading the paper or writing, Jessica enjoys pouring over the latest edition of the New Yorker with a strong cup of coffee and listening to hip-hop, sometimes at the same time.

Hannah earned dual Bachelor's degrees in International Studies and French from the University of Oklahoma, where she was the president of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and participated in several tutoring and mentoring programs. After graduating magna cum laude, she spent a year in a small town in France working with young children on their English language skills. When it comes to helping students succeed, she believes that a positive attitude is key to building confidence and achieving academic goals. Her specialties include French, language arts skills, general science, psychology, reading comprehension, and history. She is also a National Merit Scholar and thus would be more than happy to work with your student on the PSAT or SAT. In her free time, Hannah is passionate about traveling all over the world and experiencing as many different cultures as she possibly can. Closer to home, she also enjoys visiting Disneyland and collecting as many Star Wars t-shirts as she can fit in her suitcase.

Chitra attended school on the Central Coast of California where she was raised, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. Her experiences have taught her that each student has different methods and processes to understand the material in a given subject. For Chitra, it is rewarding to see the student be successful in the classroom when they have found a way that works for them. She likes to tutor in history subjects (Modern, World and U.S. History), and Government (also AP), as well as science and mathematics. In her free time Chitra enjoys traveling and exploring places with family and friends, and to play tennis. You may also find her relaxing with a good book or playing board games. She also currently works as a Special Education Assistant at a local high school in Concord, California.
